When you upgrade your equipment to END upgrade, the equipment will change into another entirely new equipment with new name.

1. Refinement Level -2

– minus 2 refinement level

2. Card Socket

– Will follow the new equipment available card socket. Check equipment info at Adventure Handbook for upgraded equipment card socket info.

For example:

You have Attached Sword[1]/[2] and want to upgrade to Muramasa.
Upgrade result is Muramasa[1]. You can check the upgraded equipment card socket info at Adventure Handbook!

So don’t open extra card socket if you plan to upgrade your equipment! Save your ZENY $$! Extra card socket will be gone after upgrading to new equipment.

3. Enchanted Attribute will remain

– Enchanted Attribute from Mora Coin/ Cat enhancement (Geffen) will remainafter equipment upgrade.

Note: Equip the equipment that you want to upgrade and talk to upgrade equipment NPC. Upgrade equipment NPC map location is mentioned at the equipment description.

Details:

1. Check Adventure Handbook, scroll down at right tab and click on last tab”.
   
2. Select any equipment on the left to view equipment name, type, description, upgrade tier info, required material for next tier, where to upgrade and craft equipment.
   
3. If the equipment is lock and grey out, it means your character haven’t unlock the crafting recipe. You’ll need to finish the mentioned Minstrel quest (Kill 300 monster quest)to unlock the equipment crafting recipe at the particular crafting NPC.

• Which socket? (A screen shot would be nice.)
  You need level appropriate Exquisite Jewels for anything Exotic or Lower quality, Ascended Back items don't take jewels, the stats are built right in.

• If it says 'Unused Infusion Slot', you fit an Agony Infusion or cosmetic infusion ( ie Snow Diamond Infusion). Normally items say what the unused slot is for.

  Universal upgrades

  Universal upgrades, which include gemstones, are upgrade components that can be placed in any type of equipment. They provide smaller bonuses than components that are type-restricted, but they are easier to acquire than most other components.
  Jewels

  Jewels are upgraded versions of gemstones created by a jeweler; they provide larger bonuses but can only be placed in trinkets.
  Runes

  Infusions

  Infusions are a special type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended equipment, legendary equipment, and some non-ascended back items. Enrichments are upgrade components that can be placed in ascended amulets.

  In case of below ascended back piece, you are looking for jewels/gemstones or universal upgrades.

  In case of ascended, the stats are already added to the base item and a back piece offers 1 or 2 slots for infusions.

  Insignias are used for crafting items.

  Sigils are used for weapons.
